It really is the best time to be a woodworker, because not only are the essential woodworking tools you need easier to get than ever, more and more people are joining this hobby every day. From woodworking communities on Pinterest to YouTube to Facebook, it’s never been easier to find something that inspires you to get out in your shop. And, if you read our previous post, you’ll know that we think one of the biggest challenges to overcome is to simply get started. Yes, it’s often intimidating — especially if you’re new to woodworking — but at the end of the day, once you start, it will be hard to stop.
With plenty of step-by-step guides and video tutorials, approaching a project isn’t the challenge it once was. Now are we saying that it won’t be challenging? No! But what we are saying is that it’s easier now to overcome those challenges. Rather than getting vague drawn instructions and hoping for the best, you can watch a video of someone completing a difficult task, providing you with confidence to tackle it yourself. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Also better is that it’s easy to buy essential woodworking tools online. In the past, you used to have to head to the local hardware store — or the specialty store if your community was lucky enough to have one — but now you can do your research, read reviews, and order woodworking products online. How wonderful is that?
